Round 19 Adelaide Weekend Warriors

@ “The Gov” A FANTASTIC SUCCESS!!!

All involved were proud to be part of another successful Weekend Warrior concert on Sunday afternoon @ The Governor Hindmarsh Hotel the 6th of July. Three new bands & two special guest bands performed while the audience danced & cheered - and what about that Crowd? Thanks to all your family & friends for supporting another great show, each and every family or friend that came deserves a big pat on the back. Just shows music is a great way to bring people together and for a great cause. Also a big thankyou to our very own Tom Leech, what a great job he did pumping up that crowd thanks again Tom for your time.

Opening up the afternoon was the teen warrior guest band BLACK KYRPTONITE with Joker & a Theif; they had the crowd rocking right from the start. Other tunes included Kryptonite, Long way to the top & many more, these kids rocked. Great job to all involved in the band. Hard to believe how great they sounded for their age, so a big THANKYOU from all of us & well done to all. We know how hard it is to open a show but you all performed like true professionals.

The next band, STRANGLED CATS, well this band had some real bad luck with their singer pulling out hours before the show due to illness, but as they say the show must go on and it did with the band pulling together. This band really pulled out some magic & had the crowd eating out of their hands with fans going wild. They sounded as if they had played together for months and it is so hard to believe they have only rehearsed together for 4 weeks. Their songs included Fortunate Son, When I come Around, Get Back, Paranoid plus many more… Great Job to all, what more can I say but WELL DONE TO ALL in this band, I was impressed considering they had to cover for their singer, with a bit more practice & a few more songs who knows what might become of these guys?

The next new band FLAT SIDE UP well what can I say about these guys. They ROCKED! The crowd went wild as they blasted out their set. With tunes like Walking on Sunshine, Don’t Stop, I love Rock n Roll, Long Train Running & much much more. They all should be congratulated on the end result a great well put together set, the band played together very professionally. These gals rocked and they had a ball doing it. Again thanks to all of you for making it a great day to remember and to think all these people have only played together for 4 weeks. GO Warriors!

The next act was a Guest Band KILL BILL; They all were so committed to playing together as a band and it showed. To think that some of them would have never played together if not for this program, tells me we must be doing something right, Rock On! Anyhow back to the band, rocking with hits such as Summer in the City, Keep on Rockin in the Free World & a great version of Stray Cat Strut - they had the crowd begging for more...and the audience received much more. The whole band grooved, well done and big thanks to all involved.

The Last band for the night LOST IN BASS well what can I say about these guys. They ROCKED! The crowd went wild as they blasted out their set. With tunes like Hit Me with your Best Shot, Echo Beach, Hard to Handle a great version of Proud Mary & much much more. They all should be congratulated on the end result a great well put together set. Don’t be surprised if you see these guys at a venue soon! Again thanks to all of you for making it a great night to remember and to think all these people have only played together for 4 weeks. Amazing Stuff!

Well done to the coaches, Tom FANTASTIC JOB of MC as usual he just loves this program, great stuff mate & Tony (Stage Roadie) out of sight but not out of mind as he prepared all the Bands in between breaks just amazing stuff getting all bands on and off stage in the times he does. If any of you would like to share your story, we would luv to hear from you, Just reply to the email & I will include it in our list of many testimonials.

Also I would like to thank Peter from Holden Hill Music his wife Kerry on door duty. Lastly, to all the sponsors Holden Hill Music, Rock Music, AIMMS School of Rock & The Governor Hindmarsh whom without, none of this would be possible.

A Special big thanks to the Warriors Association of SA for making the huge effort on the night, the whole program means a lot to me personally & I really appreciate the help & input from everyone, it really makes it all worth while you are all such nice people THANK YOU ALL! This is the future in keeping Music Live for Recreational Music in SA, keep up the great work.

Monies raised on the night will go to Musical Therapy Association of SA & RAH Music Matters Programme to help towards buying much needed musical equipment & pay for internal music related programs. Money raised on the night for these charities could not have happened without the help from all involved Family and Friends thankyou for all your efforts. We hope you enjoyed the show and we look forward to many more for many years to come.

The next jam at this stage will be Tuesday July 29th but will be advertised on Holden Hill Music’s web site as soon as it is confirmed – so keep it free we would love to see a fresh batch of future Warriors attend.
